I am very bothered right now....actually i've been bothered for a while now but right now i'm just bored enough to rant about it...........WHY IF OIL PRICES HAVE DOUBLED HAVE GAS PRICES STAYED ALMOST THE SAME??????? I know i don't pay for gas, but if they charge just as much for gas now and it is twice as expensive as it was, how much were they gouging out of people before....and how much now???????????????????? It just makes me mad............

Not that you really want an explination of gas prices, but the cost of oil that you currently hear about are actually oil futures. So the price we pay for gas is actually based on the cost of oil from 6-8 months ago. However the prices are artificially inflated. The process over the many years goest something like this. Let's say gas is $1 a gallon, then the prices skyrocket to $1.75 and everyone complains. Just as everyone slowly getting use to paying the higher costs, the prices are lowered to $1.25. The puplic feels this is still expensive but hey atleast it's not $1.75 This process happens slowly over the years until everyone is glad that we only pay $10 a gallon. Honesltly the technology is out there to use more efficent energy sourse, but why do that when there is so much more money to be made in oil?
yeah....but they don't want to get the money from the local oil so we have to depend on the crazies in saudi arabia to give us oil so we actually have to be nice to them and we really really really don't want to...................if we went to alaska (where absolutely no one lives, so no one cares about the animals) and drilled for some oil, then we could have lots for probably the same inflated price but at least we wouldn't have to deal with the saudis and people over there...........
